Trapped In Wonderland

Late August. That's all that I remember from seeing them. My family that is.

It was close to Halloween and we were of course, carving pumpkins. My little brother, Andrew, was five at the time. I remember that he loved ripping out the pumpkins guts and feeling them and making our sister, Anabeth who was three, scream and cry because she didn't  like the way that it all felt. My mom and dad would choose sides unknowing. My family was oblivious. It was so amazing to me. Unfortunately it as also their downfall.

It was Halloween of 2003. I had brought my little siblings back home so I could go out to  party with my friends. My mother was watching a scary movie on the couch curled up net to popcorn. My father had answered the door suspecting another trick-or-treater.

"Trick or treat!!" Andrew screamed with joy. I laughed and patted him on top of the head.

"Buddy, this is our house."
"Oh? well, I know that. I just want more candy."
my father placed down the bowl of candy and turned towards us; picked up Andrew. "Come on little man, time for  bath."

"But biggy man, I want candy!!!"
"After your bath, I promise."

you could hear the bathwater run as i stepped inside closing the door behind me. i glanced round our decorated house with spiders hanging on the walls and Ghosts in every corner just as if in n I Spy book. Anabeth started to cry as my mother muted the TV. "Why don't you go and set her down for a nap?' I nodded and took off my boots from my hippie costume nd followed the path that my father hd taken up the stairs towards the dark corridor. To the right of me you could hear Andrew playing with his toys in the bathtub.

"Come on Ana-B. Lets get you out of your cupcake outfit and into your pj's. Sound like a plan?"

I changed her and lay her in her crib. i hummed her a soft and gentle lullaby nd when her eyes were closed, i had silently walked out. i walked back down the stirs and saw my parents cuddling and giggling like the kids from school. I made a gagging sound and said that i was leaving.

"No later than 11 hunny." i turned towards the clock. only 9:30.
"and if one hair of my little princess is out of place," my father had stood and walked over to me. he raised his fist "you both will get this." Then he leaned over and kissed my forehead.

"okay daddy." and i left for the party. Without ever saying I love you.

"Alice. Alice!! " A girl of about 19 years walked up to me and shook me out of my memories.
"what?"  i blinked fast shaking my head. "oh. Kate I'm sorry. Ha ha lot in thought again I guess."
"Well you need to snap out of it already! The police are coming for us gin! we need to go."
"When to this time?"
she grabbed my hand pulling me up and dragging me towards the ledge. "I don't care, you choose. Maybe coming a month after 9/11 wasn't the best plan."
"y think?" the door to the roof-top swung open as swat ran through screaming t us.

"OK! to the 90's we go!" we leaped without a second thought as the swat tried to stop us but to no luck.

Halfway to the ground people screamed as we disappeared in midair.
"What the fuck was that?"
"Your guess is as good as mine l.t."

Maybe this time I will see my family.

The Wolf Of Wallstreet

The Wolf Of Wall Street is a phenomenal movie about a man named Jordan Belfort starting at the bottom of the stock broker chain and working his way up to become a millionaire. He lives a very luxurious lifestyle of no rules or cares for the law. If you are not into cursing, or seeing nudity, or into seeing people foolishly do drugs, then this is not your movie. Also not a family movie for explicit sex scenes.

I would give it four out of five stars.

prompt # 2

She gasped with excitement and shouted over the noise of the propeller: "The islands in the clouds are real!!"

She had been waiting her whole life to find this mystical land. After years of research from her mother and her father and her brother, she had been the one to find it. she had almost lost all hope but she kept pushing through, just for her grandfather.

When she was just a kid, her whole family was under one roof. a perfectly happy family. the only thing that she didn't see coming was her grandmother leaving her grandfather for a younger man. Of course her grandfather chased and begged her grandmother to stay and not leave his side. He needed her. She was his heart and could and the only thing that has ever kept him alive. She rejected him coldly and packed her bags and was gone. He was broken.

For months all the grandfather could do was sit on the couch and down whiskey.

One day the grandfather had grabbed his paper and had seen his runaway love in it. She was front page news in a beautiful gown that held her just right. Still forever stunning in his eyes. a whole article on her life. How she ran away from him to join a man named John. John and her were married three weeks later. still young in the honey moon stage and then, she just hated the man. She learned to loathe him for pulling her away from the grandfather. Blamed him for tearing her apart from her own family. Her only blood. She dealt with it for a month and then she vanished. She was never on the news. This had been this first article since her disappearance. The grandfather knew what he had to do. He had to go after her and find her. He packed immediatly knowing that she would be in the clouds. The land that only they knew about. So in the middle of the night, he left a note and went there.

The thing is the family had no maps or directions to the place. They were left clueless. So they finally went and investigated.

I Believe

I believe that war is natural. Us as humans fight every day. With words, knives and guns. We can kill someone by just saying that “he or she should never wear that outfit again.” We all live in a war today. Some big and some small. A war by definition is an organized and often prolonged conflict that is carried out by states or non-state actors. It is generally characterized by extreme violence, social disruption, and economic destruction. Sometimes a war doesn’t just involve tanks, grenades and soldiers going M.I.A.  Maybe war is considered a battle within oneself to accept what they are. I believe that war can even occur at school in the classroom where you are supposed to be safe. The war between grades, the war between fitting-in and being true to yourself, the war to stick it through or just stop drop and roll out of school. I believe that the war could even be at home with your own family. The war to stand up for your beliefs, or pipe down and nod your head; just agree with the ones that “made you”. I believe that the biggest war of all is life itself. The greatest decision of all is to live and breathe, or die and dream. The simplest of wars is religion. Which one is right, which one is wrong, which one is real; which one do we need to follow? I believe that religion is the face of wars. I believe that if there was no religion, people would have more room for love for each other and less room for hate. People wouldn’t be so closed minded as to push others away for their “sins” and instead welcome them and show them that this world is for everyone. I believe that maybe then, all of the other wars would stop if we would just stop holding so much faith and hope in one single book. I believe that if we were to look into ourselves instead of a book, then people could be united and not cut, or force themselves to throw up, or even be called a slut after one little mistake. I believe that this world is pretty sad to say the least. But I also believe that we as humans, can make everything better only if we were to open our hearts and minds to others lives.

Dreaming

Dancing in the waves of rem.
Reality is at the grasp of our fingertips, but it is running with the time.
Chase after it as you morph into something better.
Never wanting to wake up from your eternal bliss.
Open your mind, not your eyes, and leave the work to your imagination
